Today iI am on a blog tour for a book completely out of my comfort zone, ‘…To the Moon and Back# by Patricia Asedegbega Nieto.
About the Book
Is there always a light at the end of every tunnel? 26 year old Anne is seriously beginning to question if she is ever going to find it. After a series of devastating blows, the young nurse finally catches a break; Ben, the love of her life asks her to marry him and it suddenly feels like she can start to smile again. But Anne has a secret that is threatening to destroy it all and this time, there is no easy way out. Will she be able to beat the odds and have the happy ending she has always longed for?
As I mentioned this book is completely out of my comfort zone, it is set in Nigeria about a woman called Anne and her life.
I was asked to read the book and as it looked interesting I thought I would give it a go. It was a very interesting read, although at times I did struggle a bit, as it is set in Nigeria and they have completely different cultural rules to us, which made the story confusing at times.
The story follows Anne, who has lost both her parents at an early age, leaving her owing money to people for funeral costs.
Anne is feeling unwell, but puts it down to tiredness, until she collapses and is discover by a man, who takes her to hospital and does tests on her. These tests reveal that she is a lot worse than she thought.
From there things take a strange turn of events, and left me shocked with the decisions made. I really didn’t see where the book was going after this but the surprise kept me hooked in the book throughout.
Overall it was a really good read, which kept me guessing and made me feel sorry for people in Nigeria who are treated this way.
