Today I am pleased to be involved in the blog tour for Her Name is Mercie by Chris Roy. The book was published 26th May 2018
About the book
Her Name Is Mercie
Mercie Hillbrook lives a simple, quiet life working as a gas station attendant. Then her parents are killed. Her home is taken. The people responsible are excused for just doing their job. When an attempt to get justice her way lands her in trouble with the law, Mercie realizes she still has something to lose: her own life.
Then she finds reason to believe her parents were murdered… and she doesn’t care anymore.
My Review
One of the things I love about doing my blog and being on blog tours is that I have found so many new authors whose work I have really enjoyed and Chris Roy has now joined this illustrious group of authors.
This book is an anthology of five short stories all written by Chris, with the main one being the title of the book.
Each of the stories brought different elements to Chris’s writing style and I enjoyed them all for different reasons, and I really enjoyed Mercie as it was longer than the other stories (over half the book). As it was longer than the other stories you get more of a back story and therefore I felt more involved in the story than the other ones.
If you enjoy anthologies as a way to find a new author than this book would be perfect for you as I think it gives a nice variety of styles from Chris, which I am hoping will be carried on throughout his other books.

About the Author
Chris Roy was raised in South Mississippi, in the midst of ugly Gulf Coast beaches and spectacular muddy bayous.
Chris lived comfortably with the criminal ventures of his youth until a fistfight in 1999 ended tragically.
Since January, 2000, he’s been serving a life sentence in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Nowadays he lives his life crime vicariously, through the edgy, fast-paced stories he pens, hoping to entertain readers. When he isn’t writing, he’s reading, drawing or looking for prospects to train in boxing.
